You might have many reasons to remove dimension values from mapping rules. 1 reason could be that you want to delete the dimension value. When dimension values have dependencies in the
Derived Dimensions
tab, it means that the dimension values are part of mapping rules for derived dimensions. To delete the dimension value or the dimension, you must first change or delete the mapping rule.- From the main menu, selectModeling.
- ClickDimensions.
- From the toolbar, click the arrow next to the print button and selectExport Dimension Mapping.
- Open the spreadsheet that downloads to your computer.
- Find all occurrences of the dimension value using the spreadsheet Find function.
- Either replace the dimension value or delete the entire row with the dimension value, which also deletes the rule.
- Save the spreadsheet.
- Return to .
- From the toolbar, click the arrow next to the import button and selectImport Dimension Mapping.
- Use theUpdate and Appendimport function.
When you're resolving dependencies, you can continue to resolve the other dependencies. When derived dimensions are the only dependency, you can delete the dimension value. See Resolve View Dependencies to Delete Dimension Values.
