FAQ: Version Access
- In the access controls of the version, I selectedFull Accessfor Users. Why are some of my users still unable to edit the data from sheets?
- Users need theEditable Sheet Accesspermission to edit data. When you give users this permission, also selectFull Accessfor theEditable sheet accessprompt in theAccess Controlsection.
- In access controls, I selectedHiddenfor Editable sheet access. Why can some of the users still view the version?
- Users receive the most permissive access when they belong to more than 1 of the user types. Example: You selectHiddenforEditable sheet accessandLocked Except NotesforAdministrators. Users that have theEditable Sheet Accesspermission and theVersionspermissions getLocked Except Notesaccess.Users might also belong to Global User Groups that have more permissive access.
- I set all the access controls toFull Access. Why can’t some users view or edit data as expected?
- Possible reasons for this result are:
- Access rules: The user might not have view and edit access to certain combinations of levels, accounts, and custom dimensions on the sheet. See Concept: Access Rules.
- Locked versions: You might have locked leading months in the version. This setting locks a portion of the version regardless of the other access controls. See Lock Portions of Plan Versions.
- Sheet settings: The sheet itself might have locked the accounts or restricted access. See Troubleshooting: Unable to Change Data Because Sheet Cells Are Locked.
