This example illustrates how to:
  • Save an existing report as a reusable report so that you can reuse its report elements.
  • Create a report using reusable report elements.
You want to create a
P&L
report using version elements from your existing
Current Version versus Board Approved Comparison
report.
Create a
Current Version versus Board Approved Comparison
report with these version elements:
  • Current Version
  • Targets - Board Approved
Your model contains these group dimension attributes:
  • Product Group A
  • Product Group B
  • Product Group C
Your model contains these location dimensions:
  • United States
  • Canada
Your model contains these accounts:
  • Gross Revenue
  • Discount
  • Net Revenue
  • Cost of Sales - Standard Cost
  • Cost of Sales - Variable (Freight)
  • Total Cost of Sales
  • Gross Profit
  • Gross Margin
  • Gross Margin %
Security:
  • Access Reports
    permission.
  • Create Personal Reports
    permission.
  • Create Shared Reports
    permission.
  1. Go to
    Reports
    Overview
    .
  2. From the Actions menu of your existing
    Current Version versus Board Approved
    report, select
    Add to Reusable Reports
    .
  3. Click
    Add New
    to create a new matrix report.
  4. On the
    Elements
    tab, expand
    Reusable Reports
    .
  5. Expand
    Current Version versus Board Approved Comparison
    .
  6. Add these version elements to the columns:
    • Current Version
    • Targets - Board Approved
  7. Click
    Back to Elements
    .
  8. Expand
    Dimension Attributes
    .
  9. Under the reusable version elements, add these group elements to the columns:
    • Product Group A
    • Product Group B
    • Product Group C
  10. Click
    Back to Elements
    .
  11. Expand
    Dimensions
    .
  12. Add these location elements to the rows:
    • United States
    • Canada
  13. Click
    Back to Elements
    .
  14. Expand
    Accounts
    .
  15. Under the location elements, add these accounts elements to the rows:
    • Gross Revenue
    • Discount
    • Net Revenue
    • Cost of Sales - Standard Cost
    • Cost of Sales - Variable (Freight)
    • Total Cost of Sales
    • Gross Profit
    • Gross Margin
    • Gross Margin %
  16. Click
    Save

    Enter a summary of this report.

    Select
    HTML Report

    Save in
    Select the groups, users, and levels that you want to share this report with.
