Troubleshooting: Unable to Edit Original Customer Invoice After Creating a Finance Charge
Invoice
Workday prevents you from making any changes to the original invoice after you've already
generated a finance charge invoice.
Cancel the finance charge invoice, edit the original invoice, and then generate a new
finance charge invoice.
- Access the finance charge invoice that you're trying to change.
- From the related actions menu of the finance charge invoice, clickCancel.
- From the related actions menu of the original customer invoice, clickChangeto change the desired fields.Security:Process: Customer Invoice - Changein the Customer Accounts functional area.
- Access theProcess Interest and Late Feestask to generate a new finance charge invoice.Security:Interest and Late Fee Eventin the Customer Accounts functional area.
You need to edit large number of original customer invoices after generating a finance
charge invoice.
You can first generate a finance charge report only to view the impacted customer
invoices. You can also share the report with the customers to edit the original customer
invoice before generating the finance charge invoice.
- Access theProcess Interest and Late Feestask.Under theCalculation Process Optionssection, set theOutput Optionsprompt toReporting Only.Security:Interest and Late Fee Eventbusiness process in the Customer Accounts functional area.
- Access theFind Interest and Late Fee Calculation Runsreport to find customer invoices with finance charges.
- (Optional) To share the finance charge information with your customers, create a custom report using theCustomer Invoicesreport data source (RDS). Ensure to include theGenerated By Interest And Late Fee Calculation Runfield to identify finance charge invoices.
- From the related actions menu of the original customer invoice, clickChangeto change the desired fields.
- Access theProcess Interest and Late Feestask to generate a finance charge invoice.Under theCalculation Process Optionssection, set theOutput Optionsprompt toCreate New Invoice for Finance Charges.
