a value of

to the number 200
.- Access theCreate Calculated Fieldtask.
- SelectConvert Text To Numberfor theFunction.
- As you complete theCalculationtab, consider:
Option Description Text FieldYou can select either a single instance or a text field to convert to a number. If you select a single instance field, Workday uses the display ID value of the field.Decimal SeparatorSelect the symbol that indicates a separation between the whole number and the fraction, such as a comma or a period.Return Zero on ErrorSelect the check box to return a zero value instead of displaying an error if the calculated field returns non-numerical data.If you use a Prism business object with this calculated field, Workday always returns a zero on error. - (Optional) In theAdvancedsection on theAdditional Infotab, select theDo not use Alternate Display IDcheck box from theOptionsprompt.Instead of using the alternate display ID, Workday uses the display ID from the text source to convert the text to a number.
You can use the convert text to number calculated field to convert these texts into
numeric values to perform arithmetic calculations on:
- A worker's length of service in years.
- The 200 rows in an expense report.
- Create additional calculated fields.
- Create new calculated fields from within a convert text to number calculated field.
