Set a User's Time Zone

Security:
Set Up: User Time Zone
 in the System functional area.
You can configure local time zones at any, or all, of 3 levels:
  • Tenant (default setting is the Pacific time zone).
  • Location (default setting is the tenant time zone).
  • User (default setting is the time zone of the user's associated location).
Users are associated with their local time zone unless individually configured to use a different local time zone. Implementers and integration users cannot set their preferred time zone.
  1. From the related actions menu for a worker, select
    Preferences
    Edit Preferred Time Zone.
    You can also run the
    Edit Worker Time Zone
     task directly.
  2. Set the user's
    Preferred Time Zone
     and click
    OK
    .
    The user's default time zone (their location time zone) is displayed for reference and overrides the time zone of the location associated with the user.
The time zone you configured overrides that set for the user's location.
Use the
Configure Preferred Time Zones
 task (secured to the
Set Up: System
 domain) to configure the time zones that Workday displays in the
Preferred Time Zone
 prompt. Workday honors all IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) supported time zones, regardless of the preferred time zones you configure.
