Set Up Hubs

Hubs are customizable pages where users can find workspaces and relevant content for a specific functional area.
Security:
Set Up: Tenant Setup - Hub
domain in the System functional area.
Configure Workday-provided Hub pages for your tenant.
Each user and administrator must sign out and sign back in to view most changes that you make to Hubs. Exception: Announcements and Content tabs.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Hubs
    report.
  2. In the row for the hub that you want to set up, select
    Configure
    .
    Workday displays the
    Configure Hub by Admin
    task.
  3. (Optional) Rename the hub by entering a new name in the
    Hub Title
    field.
    • You can translate the renamed hub using the
      Translate Business Object
      report.
    • Workday ignores this override for the Recruiting Hub.
    Workday doesn't apply the
    Hub Title
    override to the Apps menu. However, you can change the hub title from the
    Maintain Dashboards
    report. Filter for and edit the Home dashboard, edit the hub, and in the
    Worklets
    section, update the
    Worklet Title

  4. Select the
    Announcements
    tab.
  5. Add a row for each announcement and enter details.
    You can use the arrows to adjust the order in which to display multiple announcements.
    Option Description
    Rule
    Select a condition rule that identifies the message recipients. If you leave this field blank, all users see this message.
    Message From / Message Title
    Specify who the message is from, or enter a message title.
    Show Current Photo / Upload Custom Image
    Include the worker profile photo of the message sender, or a custom image (Example: a logo) in the announcement. Custom images must conform to the file size limit and permitted file types for your tenant.
    To select an existing image or create an image, select
    Upload Custom Image
    . Workday recommends 600 x 338 pixels for images. Images must be 300KB or smaller. Allowed file types are JPEG and PNG (without transparency). Workday displays a stock image:
    • For messages with titles only.
    • If you select
      None of the above
    Show Current Photo
    displays the current photo for the worker you selected in the
    Message From
    prompt.
  6. Select the
    Navigation Item Override
    tab.
    Add a row for each override and add details.
    Option Description
    Navigation Item
    This prompt displays only Navigation items available for this Hub.
    Overridable
    When enabled, you can override the Workday-delivered report or dashboard with a link to another report or dashboard.
    You can only swap a report for a custom report, or a dashboard for a custom dashboard.
    Label Override
    Workday enables this field only when you have set an overridable report or dashboard. You can override the label only if you’ve also altered the navigation item to point to a custom report or custom dashboard.
    Do Not Show
    Select to hide the navigation item.
  7. As you complete the
    Suggested Links
    tab, consider:
    Option Description
    Security Group / Condition Rule
    Select a security group or predefined rule that defines to whom Workday displays the suggested links.
    Links
    (Optional) Select a previously defined link from the prompts.
  8. Select the
    Content
    tab.
    • Default Sections and Cards
      displays the Workday-delivered Hub organization in view-only mode.
    • Customize Sections and Cards
      enables you to modify the Hub.
    As you complete the
    Configured Sections and Cards
    grid, consider:
    Option Description
    Section
    Select a Section. Sections and Section titles are specific to each Hub. To hide the Section, select the minus button.
    Card
    Select a Card. Cards are specific to each Hub.
  9. (Optional) Access the
    Security Analysis for Hub Definition
    task to view the security of a hub user.
    Security, in the System functional area:
    • Security Activation
      domain.
    • Security Administration
      domain.
    • Security Configuration
      domain.
    You can use these tasks and reports to view hub definition security:
    • View Domain
      report.
    • View Domain Security Policy
      task.
    • View Security for Securable Item
      report.
