Initiate Statutory Leave Payments (UK)

  • Configure the
    Request Leave of Absence
     business process and security policy in the Time Off and Leave functional area.
  • Create statutory leave types for UK Payroll.
When placing a worker on leave, you can provide the inputs needed to ensure that the worker receives payment according to UK regulations.
  1. Access the
    Place Worker on Leave
     task.
  2. Select the appropriate regulatory leave.
    Example:

  3. Enter the specific requirements for the selected leave type:

    Statutory Adoption Pay
    • Last Day of Work
    • First Day of Leave
    • Estimated Last Day of Leave
    • Leave Type
       defined as
      GBR Adoption Leave
    • Adoption Notification Date
    • Date Child Entered Country
      , if child was adopted from outside the UK.
    • Payroll Effect
       must be checked.
    Statutory Maternity Pay
    • Last Day of Work
    • First Day of Leave
    • Estimated Last Day of Leave
    • Leave Type
       defined as
      GBR Maternity Leave
    • Either:
      • Week of Confinement
        , or
      • Expected Due Date
    • Payroll Effect
       must be checked.
    For full record-keeping, enter the
    Child's Birth Date
     when known. It’s particularly important in the event of an early birth to ensure correct SMP payments.
    Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay
    • Last Day of Work
    • First Day of Leave
    • Estimated Last Day of Leave
    • Leave Type
       defined as
      GBR - Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay
    • Child's Date of Death
      .
    • Payroll Effect
       must be checked.
    If applicable, select a previous event of this leave type in
    Links back to Prior Event
    . Example: Link together two or more noncontiguous weeks of bereavement leave.
    A worker living in Northern Ireland, with a contract of employment under the Employment Rights (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 act, doesn't qualify for Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay.

    • Leave Type
       defined as the appropriate regulatory leave type.
    • Either:
      • Week of Confinement

    • For Statutory Shared Parental Pay, complete
      Dependent Detail
      .
    • Payroll Effect

When you run payroll, Workday processes statutory payments for the leave types you’ve selected.
