Example: Configure Payroll Cutoff Dates for Pay Periods

This example illustrates how to create payroll cutoff dates using custom objects.
Global Modern Services pays their workers monthly. You want to create a payroll cutoff date to use in payroll calculations.
Security:
Custom Object Management
 domain in the System functional area.
  1. Access the
    Create Custom Object
     task.
  2. Enter these values and click
    OK
    , then
    Next
    :
    Option Description
    Workday Object
    Period
    Custom Object Name
    Payroll Cutoff Date
  3. In
    Field Definitions
    , click
    Add
    .
  4. Enter these values and click
    Next
    :
    Option Description
    Field Label
    Payroll Cutoff Date
    Field Type
    Date
  5. In
    Permissions
    , add these domains, then click
    Next
    :
    • Set Up: Payroll - Pay Group Specific
    • Set Up: Time Tracking
  6. Confirm your changes and click
    OK
    .
  7. Make no changes on the
    Activate Custom Object
     task and click
    OK
    .
  8. Click
    Done
    .
Add payroll cutoff dates to period schedules for each pay period.
