Example: Build Linked Event Worksheets

This example illustrates how to build linked event worksheets to convert different currencies on to your bid sheets.
You're a buyer in the United States running an event with suppliers in different European countries. You want to convert the currency of the supplier bids into USD.
  1. Access your event.
  2. Select
    Add New Worksheet
    .
  3. Create an event worksheet.
  4. To base the conversion rate in USD, manually enter that 1 EUR is equivalent to $0.89.
  5. Create your bid sheet.
  6. Add and edit a column for suppliers to fill out their quoted prices.
  7. Add a column, and name it
    Currency
    .
  8. Set the column type to
    Lookup
    .
  9. Select
    Conversion Rates
    from the
    Source Worksheet
    prompt to link your event worksheet for conversion rates as the source sheet.
  10. Select
    Currency Type
    from the
    Source Key Column
    prompt.
    Give suppliers visibility of the source column in order for conversions to work properly. Suppliers need to see the currency values in the drop-down menu of this column.
  11. Create another column, and name it
    Price in US Dollars
    .
  12. Set the column type to
    Formula
    .
  13. Select
    Edit Formula
    .
  14. Enter this formula to convert the quoted price from the supplier currency into USD: quantity of the item multiplied by the quoted price multiplied by either source field, or by source value.
    Use source field if the value depends on a drop-down value in the spreadsheet.
    Use source value if the value is the same for the entire column.
