Steps: Connect to Tableau

  • Create a Tableau account.
  • Generate a personal API token in Workday Strategic Sourcing (WSS).
You can use the Tableau Web Data connector in Tableau to connect your WSS data with other sourcing data across your organization. You can compare your WSS data with other applications in Tableau to provide an overview of your sourcing and procurement data.
  1. Complete steps for using the Web Data Connector in Tableau: https://help.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/examples_web_data_connector.htm. As you complete this step, consider:
    Option Description
    URL
    Copy and paste this link in the URL field: https://api.scoutrfp.com/tableau_web_data_connector/reports.
    Report Type
    Select the datasets that you want to pull in from WSS.
    Page Size
    Enter the number of records that you want returned.
    Tableau API Token
    Use the Power BI and Tableau Token generated from your user settings in WSS.
  2. Click
    Load Data
    .
    This step opens the Tableau Workbook with your selected report data.
Create sheets or dashboards in Tableau to compare your report data across your applications.
