Edit Documents Using Microsoft Word for the Web

Microsoft Word for the Web integrates with workflows, offering an alternative editing experience to the native editor for Contract Management and Document Intelligence.
Word for the Web provides a streamlined set of capabilities compared to Word for Desktop. The Web version supports document drafting directly in a web browser or on a mobile device, such as a tablet or iPad.
  • Word for the Web does not support features such as columns and section breaks. For a full feature comparison between the 2 editors, see Word Features Comparison: Web vs Desktop.
  • For a list of supported web browsers for using Word for the Web, see What browsers does Microsoft 365 for the web support?
  • Word for the Web is developed by Microsoft and does not contain any of the side panel options as seen in the Editor for Contract Management and Document Intelligence, such as Automated Redlining, Clause Library, and so on.
