Concept: Fit & Gap
Workday HiredScore Fit & Gap is a Spotlight explainability feature on the candidate profile. It compares qualifications from the job requisition’s basic and preferred requirements against the candidate’s parsed profile to show how the candidate meets (or doesn’t meet) each requirement.
Recruiters can use Fit & Gap to see which qualifications are satisfied and which are not. That same qualification-level detail can also help explain why a candidate received a particular Spotlight grade.
Fit & Gap uses a large language model (LLM) to:
- Evaluate each screenable qualification individually against the candidate's parsed resume.
- Describe the qualification-level detail behind a grade, including which requirements are or aren’t met, and how they influenced the grade.
The Spotlight Fit & Gap enhancement with LLM is available only for customers who opt in. Contact Workday Support to enable it.
How Fit & Gap Works
Workday HiredScore evaluates each screenable qualification in the job requisition against the candidate's parsed resume. For each qualification, Fit & Gap indicates whether the requirement is met or not met and provides a plain-language explanation of the result.
The LLM-driven approach:
- Evaluates basic and preferred qualifications individually.
- Supports nuanced or non-numeric requirements accurately..
- Provides an explanation for each evaluation conclusion. Points to relevant sections in the candidate's parsed profile that support the evaluation, such as professional experience, education, skills, languages, certifications, and the resume summary.
These qualification-level results contribute to the overall Spotlight grade assigned to the application.
