Concept: Employee Review Editors
Workday provides 3 editor options for employees to complete information in their employee reviews:
- Guided Editor is a wizard that takes employees through sections 1 at a time.
- Summary Editor has all sections on the same page.
- Guided Experience is a wizard that enables employees to navigate between sections.
Guided Editor and Summary Editor
We plan to retire Guided Editor and Summary Editor for employee reviews in a future release. Workday recommends that you use Guided Experience for a more streamlined employee review experience.
You can specify that users start in either Guided Editor or Summary Editor, or you can let them select the editor. Users can switch editors at any time by clicking
Guide Me
or Summary
. They can also pause data entry to complete later. You can specify that the employee review uses Guided Experience as an alternative to Guided Editor. Unlike Guided Editor, users can't switch between Guided Experience and Summary Editor.
Guided Experience
Guided Experience provides functionality differences with Guided Editor and Summary Editor. Guided Experience supports all template sections except Career. If you create a template using Guided Experience but include the unsupported section of Career, you won't be able to launch the review.
- The Autosave for Guided Experience Employee Reviews feature is available for the Guided Experience employee review template. The background process runs every 90 seconds for supported Guided Experience employee review sections. The autosave feature isn't available for theAcknowledgmentorReview and Submitsteps.
- You can configure separate help text targeted specifically for workers and managers.
- When configured, Workday displays a separateAcknowledgmentsection after theSummaryorReviewsections, while Guided Editor displays employee and manager acknowledgment steps before other steps.
- Guided Experience supports hiding section ratings and weightings inAccomplishments,Competencies,Goals, andQuestionssections.
- TheCompetenciesandFeedbacksections provide a grid format to users not supported in Guided Editor and Summary Editor.
- Workday doesn't support Guided Experience on the Workday mobile app.
