Override Academic Requirements Effective Date

Override Academic Requirements Effective Date

Workday uses a student's
Declare Date
or
Matriculation Date
as the date that their academic requirements are effective. You can override the
Requirements Effective Date
for a student's program of study if necessary.
Example: The institutional policy configures
Academic Requirements Effective On
as students'
Matriculation Date
. A student matriculates on 8/1/2021 with an
Undeclared
Major. The assigned requirements are also effective as of the same date. The student declares a major on 01/10/2022. Using the task, you can override the requirements effective date to match the student's
Declare Date
.
  1. From the related actions menu on the student profile, select
    Advising
    Override Academic Requirements Effective Date
    .
This task isn't accessible from global search.
  2. Select the program of study from the prompt.
  3. Enter a new
    Requirements Effective
    date.
The date must be on or after the:
    • Requirements effective date for the program of study
    • Student's
      Declare Date
      or
      Matriculation Date
      .
Workday:
  • Evaluates the academic progress for the student based on the new effective date of the requirements.
  • Updates the
    Requirements Effective
date for the program of study on the
    Academic Progress
    report of the student's profile.
Launch the
Academic Progress Evaluation
task to evaluate the student's progress based on the new effective date. See Concept: Launch Academic Progress Evaluation.
