Manage: Configure Evaluate Academic Requirements Policy
domain in the Academic Advising functional areaYou can configure effective date options for Advising administrators and student self-service that are available on the
Evaluate Academic Requirements for Student
and Evaluate Academic Requirements
tasks, including the default options for these users. Workday enables you to configure the evaluation tasks so that students and advisors can select from effective date options that are meaningful for their role. Example: You might want to hide the Program of Study Configuration Date
from student self-service. - Access theConfigure Evaluate Academic Requirements Display Policytask.
- Select whether to configure the evaluation display policy for an academic unit and level or a program of study.
- Select either:
- Inherit from Superior Academic Unit. If the policy is already inheriting from the superior academic unit, the selection defaults to the option to create a new policy or edit the existing policy.
- Create New Policy or Edit Existing Policy. If the subordinate academic unit is already inheriting its policy from the superior academic unit, you can edit the existing policy or create a new policy if one doesn't exist, as of the effective date you specify. To restore inheritance, edit the subordinate policy so that it has the same configured options as the superior policy. Then select the option to inherit from the superior academic unit.
- From theField Configurationgrid, select the effective dates to display for self-service and for administrators.Example:
- To enable students to evaluate only programs of study by matriculation date and current date, selectMatriculation DateandCurrent DateforShow for Student Self Service. Clear the other options.
- To provide more flexibility for administrators, select all the date options forShow for Administrators.
- Select 1 default each for both types of users from:
- Default for Current Programs of Study.
- Default for New Programs of Study.
Ensure that you configure the default selections toShowfor both students and administrators. Example: ForDefaults for Student Self Service, if you selectCurrent Requirements Effective Dateas theDefault for Current Programs of StudyandMatriculation Dateas theDefault for New Programs of Study, ensure that you've configured both options forShow for Student Self Service.
The date options that you configure for each role are the only ones available for administrators and students when they access the evaluation task and evaluate what-if scenarios for current and new programs of study. See Evaluate Academic Requirements.
