Evaluate Academic Progress

Evaluate Academic Progress

The academic progress job evaluates a student's progress toward completion of their educational objectives.
The academic progress job runs nightly or immediately, depending on the event. The nightly job is automatic and not schedulable. You can also manually launch the job to evaluate a student's academic progress after making a configuration change. If you change an existing academic requirement configuration, Workday requires you to manually run the task.
When the academic progress job runs, it considers all possible registrations and applies them to requirements.
You can view the job steps and failures each time the job runs. If necessary, you can rerun the Nightly Job Orchestration or manually launch the academic progress evaluation.
The academic progress job doesn't save reports or logs from previous runs.
  1. To run manually, access the
    Launch Academic Progress Evaluation
    task either:
    1. From the related actions menu on the student profile, select
      Advising
      Launch Academic Progress Evaluation
      .
Run the task from the student's profile for Workday to evaluate configuration updates for a single student. Example: After you apply a course or unit requirement override.
    2. From global search, enter the task name.
Run the task on the node on which you configure updates to academic requirements. You can select a specific student or an academic unit and level or program of study or program area. Workday returns all students who belong to the criteria you select.
      Example:
      • If you change general requirements for an academic unit and level, select the corresponding values on the task.
      • If you change program requirements, select
        Program of Study
. The academic progress job runs on all students with the selected program of study even if it isn't their primary program of study.
      • If you run it for a student with multiple academic records, select a specific academic record. Example:
College of Business: Graduate (M.S.) (Active)
        or
College of Business: Graduate (M.S.) (Inactive)
        .
To view the job results, review the
Academic Progress
report on the Academics profile group of the student's profile.
