Create Educational Institution Grading Schemes

  • Create any custom external grade point values that educational institutions use.
  • Security:
    Manage: Educational Institution
     domain in the Academic Foundation functional area.
You can use educational institution grading schemes to:
  • Record the grades that students receive on external transcripts.
  • Define the grade point values that correspond to external grades.
You can create custom grading schemes to include unique grades that the Workday-delivered grading schemes don’t provide. Example: R, X, and K.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Educational Institution Grading Schemes
     task.
  2. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Code
    Enter a unique code to identify the grading scheme.
    Grade Point Value
    Select from Workday-delivered or custom grade point values.
    Configuration
    (Optional) Specify whether:
    • The external grade earns credit at your institution.
    • Grade point average (GPA) calculations include the external grade.
    On transfer grade mapping policies, you can assign different transfer grades for the same grade point values based on the external grade configuration. See Set Up Transfer Grade Mapping Policies.
  • Associate grading schemes with educational institutions. Workday makes the specified grading schemes available when you add external transcripts from the educational institution.
  • To edit an educational institution grading scheme, access the
    Edit Educational Institution Grading Scheme
     task.
