Set Up Transfer Grade Mapping Policies

  • Set up student grading at your institution for the transfer grades you want to assign. See Steps: Set Up Student Grading.
  • Security:
    Set Up: Transfer Credit
     domain in the Student Records functional area.
You can:
  • Set up policies to define how grade points from external transcripts and education test results map to internal grade equivalents at your institution.
  • Configure these policies to apply to academic units and levels or individual programs of study.
Workday uses transfer grade mapping policies in transfer credit evaluations.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Transfer Grade Mapping Policy
     task.
  2. In the
    Choose What to Configure
     section, select the highest level of the academic structure at which you want to configure the policy.
    When you configure a policy for a program of study or subordinate academic unit, you override the policy inherited from the superior academic unit and level, if applicable.
    You can:
    • Create a new policy or reinherit the policy of the superior academic unit and level, as of the effective date you specify in the
      Choose a Definition
       section.
    • Edit an existing policy, defined by the policy effective date.
  3. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Universal Grade Weight Value
    Map transfer grades on the:
    • Workday-Delivered
       grid for Workday-delivered grade point values.
    • Custom
       grid for custom external transfer grade point values.
    Transfer Grade
    For each
    Universal Grade Weight Value
     and
    Education Test
    , select the internal grade equivalent from a student grading scheme at your institution.
    Override Grade
    (Optional) Use these options to assign a different
    Transfer Grade
     based on whether:
    • The external grade earns credit.
    • Grade point average (GPA) calculations include the external grade.
    The
    Grade Options
     correspond to the configuration of the external grade on the educational institution grading scheme.
    Education Test
    (Optional) Click
    Include All
     to award the same
    Transfer Grade
     to results for all education tests.
For transfer credit evaluations, Workday uses transfer grade mapping policies to assign the corresponding transfer grade for transfer credit. Workday uses the policy that’s configured for the program of study or inherited from the superior academic unit and level.

 report.
A student receives a K grade on a zero-credit course on their external transcript. The educational institution uses K grades to indicate courses that are eligible for transfer credit. On the educational institution grading scheme, you set up the K grade with a grade point value of
0
 and configuration of
Earns Credit; Not Included in GPA
.
On your transfer grade mapping policy, you can map the
Universal Grade Weight Value
 of
0
 to these values:

For the course with the K grade, the student then earns a transfer grade of
