Concept: Self-Service Agent
About Self-Service Agent
The Self-Service Agent is a conversational AI agent that enables employees and managers to complete self-service actions in Workday, such as:
- Retrieving actionable information on their Workday data, such as viewing recent payslips, updating personal information and requesting time off.
- Managing organizational goals and viewing team learning statuses.
- Viewing policy information for their organization from knowledge articles stored in Workday.
Skills - ESS and MSS
Self-Service Agent supports skills for both employee self-service (ESS) tasks and manager self-service (MSS) tasks. Some skills are designed specifically for either employees or managers and are thus prefixed with either ESS or MSS.
Skills - Base and Advanced
Self-Service Agent supports base skills and advanced skills. Base skills support simple actions while advanced skills support more complex actions. You can see what each skill covers in the skill description as you configure the skills on the agent.
Workday evaluates both user access to the agent and the user access to the APIs the agent is executing as tools at runtime, so Workday recommends that you evaluate alignment between the security groups in the
Available To
prompt and the security groups that have permissions for the Tools
the agent might execute. Use the View Security for Agent Skill
report to view detailed information about the agent’s tool APIs and the respective domain or business process security policies and permissions. We also recommend that you consult the Self-Service Agent FAQ & Troubleshooting Guide for additional security troubleshooting.Agent Accounts
You can use the
All AI Agent Accounts
report secured to the Domains: Workday Accounts
domain in the System functional area to view all agent accounts in your tenant. On the report, click the Workday Account
related actions next to the magnifying glass to View Audit Trail
