This example demonstrates how to book and manage your time off using the Self-Service agent in Workday.
Scenario:
You want to understand how to effectively use your time off this year based on company holidays and paid time off. Instead of comparing reports and company policies, you want to ask, in plain text, the best way to optimize and plan your time off.
- Access the Self-Service Agent by clicking the Workday chat icon in the global top navigation bar.
- Enter a prompt asking the Self-Service Agent about your time off balance. Example:I’d like to take some time off this quarter. How many days do I have to take? Include company holidays and sabbaticals. The agent might prompt you to clarify additional information such as:
- Indicating the absence type.
- Indicating the amount of time you'd like to take.
- Respond to the agent and confirm your request.
- Repeat this process by asking the Self-Service Agent about each upcoming quarter for the year. Example:What about next quarter? How many days can I take then?
The agent displays the details of your request.
Review the information and confirm it.
