Concept: Engagement Score
The engagement score consists of 4 standard questions.
- How likely is it you would recommend [Company Name] as a place to work?
- How likely is it that you would stay with [Company Name], if you were offered the same job at another organization?
- Overall, how satisfied are you working for [Company Name]?
- How likely is it you would recommend [Company Name] products or services to friends and family?
If you're using custom questions on the engagement driver and subdrivers, they’re also
part of the engagement score. We recommend using the standard questions for higher
accuracy in benchmarking.
Engagement Score Calculation
This section explains the engagement score calculation in
Average
mode. You can apply the same explanation to all
other driver scores (in Average
mode), no matter the question
set.The engagement score is the average of each employee's own engagement score, rather
than an average of the 4 standalone questions.
- The calculation identifies each employee's latest score for each of the 4 engagement questions. The scores must be within the visibility window.
- The calculation averages these scores to get an engagement score, per employee.
- The engagement score from each employee contributes to the average engagement score of the given dashboard.
Example
Question | Employee 1 | Employee 2 | Employee 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
Engagement core question | 10 | 7 | 6 |
Belief subdriver question | 6 | 7 | 5 |
Satisfaction subdriver question | 9 | 8 | - |
Loyalty subdriver question | 9 | 5 | 4 |
Overall engagement score
| 8.5 | 6.8 (rounded up from 6.75) | 5 |
We now average the 3 overall scores, and conclude that the engagement score for this
team is 6.8 (rounded up from 6.75).
Using the 3 employee scores we can also determine the standalone question scores, at
team level.
