Browse and Select Solutions

  • Security:
    Solution
     domain in System functional area. Include security groups in both
    Report/Task Permissions
     and
    Integration Permissions
     for the
    Solution
     domain security policy.
  • Enable the Solutions feature.
  • Review and understand Solutions migration and sharing limits.
Use the
Browse Solutions
 report to:
  • Search for active Solutions that other customers have published to the Solution library.
  • Find a Solution that meets your needs.
  • Request access to the Solution or start the import process.
  1. Access the
    Browse Solutions
     report.
  2. (Optional; recommended) Select search criteria to narrow your results.
    The
    Browse Solutions
     report only returns active Solutions; you can’t search for inactive Solutions.
    Option Description
    Solution
    Enter all or part of the Solution name, if known.
    Author
    Filter by selecting the named author of the Solution from the prompt.
    If a person published a Solution anonymously, that Solution doesn’t display in search results even if you select the author of the Solution.
    Company
    Filter by selecting the company (Workday customer) that published the Solution.
    Include Solutions Requiring Author Approval before Import
    Select to include protected Solutions; clear this check box to include only unrestricted Solutions.
    Configuration Type
    Filter by selecting one or more types of Configuration (such as Calculated Fields) that the Solution must include to display in search results.
    Tag
    Filter by selecting one or more Tags corresponding to Workday feature areas or industries.
    ID
    Enter the ID value of a specific Solution.
  3. View the list of results, select
    View Details
     for a Solution, then select one of these options:
    Option Description
    Back to Search Results
    Select to return to the preceding search results.
    Import Solution
    Select if the Solution is unrestricted and you want to import the Solution.
    Request Solution
    Select if the author of the Solution requires approval before releasing the Solution to you.
    1. Select the
      Environment/Tenant
       and
      Requestor
       (automatically populates your ID) to whom Workday sends the request response (approval or denial).
    2. (Optional) Edit the
      Subject
       and
      Body
       of the request message.
    Preview Import
    Set:
    • Configuration Type
       and
      Configuration
       name.
    • Will Be Created
      /
      Will Be Updated
      .
    • Difference Summary
      .
If the Solution is unrestricted (or the author has granted you access), Workday opens the
Import Solution
 task.
