Download Solution from Solutions Library
- Security:Solutiondomain in the System functional area. Include security groups in bothReport/Task PermissionsandIntegration Permissionsfor theSolutiondomain security policy.
- Enable the Solutions feature.
- The Solution owner must share a Solution with you (or with all Workday customers) in order for you to import it.
- Review and understand Solutions migration and sharing limits.
You can:
- Select a Solution from the Solution library that contains one or more Configurations.
- Import some or all of the Configurations into your tenant.
- (Optionally) resolve exceptions.
Workday strongly recommends that you always review, test, and troubleshoot every
Solution in a Sandbox and Implementation environment. Resolve any accuracy, security,
and performance issues. Then, migrate Solutions from your Sandbox and Implementation
environment into your Production environment.
- Access theImport Solutionreport.
- To find one or more Solutions that you want to import, select search criteria:TheBrowse Solutionsreport only returns active Solutions; you can't search for inactive Solutions.
Option Description SolutionEnter all or part of the Solution name, if known.AuthorFilter by selecting the named author of the Solution from the prompt.If a person published a Solution anonymously, that Solution doesn't display in search results even if you select the author of the Solution.CompanyFilter by selecting the company (Workday customer) that published the Solution.Include Solutions Requiring Author Approval before ImportSelect to include protected Solutions; clear this check box to include only unrestricted Solutions.Configuration TypeFilter by selecting one or more types of Configuration (such as Calculated Fields) that the Solution must include in order for Workday to include it in search results.TagFilter by selecting one or more Tags corresponding to Workday feature areas or industries.IDEnter the ID value of a specific Solution. - From the report results, select the Solutions that you want to import:
Option Description Import a single SolutionSelect theView Detailsbutton in the same row as the Solution that you want to import, then selectImport Solution. If the Solution is available for download without publisher approval, you can selectPreview Importto view the Configurations included in the Solution.Import more than one SolutionsSelectImport All. - Review the list of included Configurations, and clear theImportcheck box for any Configurations that you don't want to import.
- To receive a notification message in Workday if the owner of a Solution updates the Solution after you import it, select the enabling check box, then specify:
Option Description Environment/TenantSelect the environment and tenant that contains the account of the person who receives notifications.User to NotifySelect the account for the person who receives a notification in Workday when the owner of the Solution updates the Solution. - Review the Importing Agreement, then selectAccept.
- Resolve any exceptions for the Solution import.
- SelectRefreshuntil the import action completes.Workday displays theView Import Solution Eventreport.TheImport Eventstab displays if the import event was successful. You can selectReview Importto view additional details.
- (Optional) To compare the Configurations in the Solution with other Configurations in your tenant that have a similar Reference ID, select .TheCompare Configurationsreport displays similar Configurations and summarizes any differences between the listed Configurations.
The
Configurations that you imported are now available in your
tenant.
After you load Solutions successfully, inspect and
test new and changed configurations in your tenant. Verify that configurations function as
expected. You can make additional configuration changes to tailor the Solution to meet your
needs better.
