All Registration Actions
When you help students register for courses or manage their registrations, you can encounter errors for these items if you:

Date control | Perform a registration action that's outside the set date control. Example: You attempt to drop a student from a course after the Drop without Record End date control date.

Date in the future | Register or withdraw students from a course using a date that's in the future. Example: You select tomorrow's date as the Withdrawal Date when withdrawing a student from a course.

Enrollment unit | Perform a registration action that results in students being below or above the set enrollment unit limit. Example: You attempt to register a student who's already registered for 28 units for a course that's 4 units, but Alma Mater University students can only register for 30 units per academic period.

Institution | Select an incorrect institution for your registration action. This only applies to tenants with multiple institutions and when you use web services to load data. Example: You attempt to register an Alma Mater University student for a course offered by Katherine Johnson University.

Course Registrations
When you help students register for courses, you can encounter errors for these items if you:

Academic calendar | Register a student who's recent change in program of study resulted in a different academic calendar that applies to them.
This can occur when a student changes their primary program of study, reporting record, or both. To find that information, either:

Active academic record | Register students for a course section during an academic period for which they don't have an active academic record. Example: You attempt to register a student with a suspended program of study for a course offered during an academic period that's before their return date.

Corequisite course | Register students for a course section of a course that has a corequisite. Example: You're registering a student for BIOL 250 and don't include BIOL 255 in the registration, even though they're corequisite courses.

Course components unavailable | Register students for a course that has multiple course components, but not all required components are published for the selected academic period. Example: Students are required to take the lecture and laboratory components of BIOL 101, but only the lecture course sections have been published for the upcoming academic period.

Course component start and end dates | Register students for course sections that are components of the same course, but don't have the same start and end dates. Example: BIOL 101 offers these course sections for the upcoming fall semester:

Course section clusters | Register students for a course section that's part of a course section cluster without the other course sections in the cluster. Example: You're registering students for BIOL 152-1, which is part of a course section cluster that also includes:

Course section unavailable | Register students for a course section that isn't available. Examples: Canceled course sections or course sections that have date controls preventing registrations.
To determine the cause of unavailability, you can access these reports:

Course units | Enter a number of units that's not valid for the course section. Example: When you register students for BIOL 101, you can only enter 3 to 5 units.
Access the View Course Section report for the selected course section to view the number of Units that you can enter. | No | Yes | |
Cross-listed course | Register students for course sections that belong to cross-listed courses. You can register students for only 1 of the cross-listed courses. Example: You can't register students for both ECON 380 and MATH 310 because they're cross-listings of the same course.

Duplicate registration | Register students for a course section when they're already registered for the same course that's:
You can register students for the same course more than once during the same academic period if each course section offers a different special topic. Example: You register a student for each of the special topics offered by PHYS 201, such as yoga and Pilates. Select a new course section or drop the existing section. | No | Yes | |
Eligibility | Register students who don't meet the eligibility criteria configured on the course section. Examples: Course requirements and unit requirements.

Enrollment access | Register students who don't meet the registration requirements set by the enrollment access and grading policy. Example: You're attempting to register Mathematics major students for CHEM 489, which is only available for students with these programs of study:

Registration restriction override access | Attempt to override a registration restriction that you don't have access to. Example: You want to override the Capacity restriction to add students to a course section that's full.

Request only grading basis | Register students for a course section that has request-only grading bases. Example: ART 251 only has a grading basis of Audit , which is a request-only grading basis for courses within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Course Management
When you help students manage their course registrations, you can encounter errors for these items if:

Drop date | You drop students from a course section using a date that's before the student's registration date.
