Steps: Set Up Student Registration
- Set up:
- Academic foundation.
- Curriculum management.
- An academic calendar with standard academic periods and assigned to the academic unit and level for which you're enabling student registrations.
- Publish the applicable course sections to set their status toOpen.
You can configure the student registration process to align with the policies set by your institutions, enabling students to register for courses independently. This reduces manual effort for you during course registrations.
- Set up registration-related date controls.Examples:Drop with W Grade End,Enrollment Window Start, andLast Date to Waitlist.
- Set up enrollment access policies.
- Set up enrollment unit limit policies.
- (Optional) Set up waitlist policies.

- (Optional) Set Up Security for Registration Restrictions.Enable faculty members to override registration restrictions when they register students for courses.

- Security: Configure thePre-Requisite Failure Mass Drop Registrations Eventbusiness process and security policy in the Student Records functional area.
- Access thePost-Grading Jobtask so that Workday calculates the invalid registrations.
Drop students who no longer meet course prerequisites.Example: MATH 101 is a prerequisite for MATH 201. Students currently enrolled in MATH 101 preregister for MATH 201 for the next academic period. If they fail MATH 101, they won't meet the prerequisite for MATH 201.Mass Drop Registrations for Non-PaymentSecurity: Configure theMass Drop Registration for Non-Paymentbusiness process and security policy in the Student Records functional area.Drop students who haven't paid past balances. You can also set up soft drops to address specific circumstances. - (Optional) Set up access for third parties, such as parents, to view current classes.
Students can independently register for courses according to the policies and configurations that you set for your institution. They can register from:
- Their academic plan.
- Their saved schedule.
- TheFind Course Sectionsreport.
- A course listing.
